The Boys and Girls Clubs of South Central Texas hosts Family & Friends Night in order to recognize BGCSCT members, parents and volunteers. Family and Friends Night is part of the BGCSCT’s Family PLUS initiative, which is sponsored by the Kimberly-Clark foundation. Dinner is served with live music and is then followed by an award ceremony that acknowledges particular members, parents and volunteers for their ongoing efforts in assisting and improving the organization.

The purpose of Kimberly Clark’s Family PLUS is to develop youth by strengthening families. The initiative enables Clubs to partner with families and collaborate with other community agencies to ensure the positive development of youth through programming, resources and support. The foundation has shared a long-term partnership with the Boys and Girls Clubs of America for over 25 years.

“We always have a great turn out and would like to thank all who participate in this event. We take pride in our community involvement and will continue to reach out to local families in hopes of strengthening our relationship with the residents of the greater San Marcos area,” says Mark Terry, Chief Executive Officer of the BGCSCT.

The BGCSCT plans to host another Family and Friends Night Tuesday Feb. 21, 2012.
